Solid Pippy Oak kitchen recently completed in Sheffield by Concept Interiors.

We recently manufactured and installed this superb kitchen for Mr and Mrs Moat in Bradfield, Sheffield.
It has distinctive Pippy Oak panels, set in solid oak frames with brass hinges, set within a beaded framework. The tree that this beautiful Oak comes from is often found growing in hedgerows, it is full of knots close to the outer layers of the trunk, which when cut, reveals a decorative ‘cat’s paw effect’ of knots which creates a truly spectacular appeal.

The centre island design, with Angel White granite worktops and overhang shelf for seating creates an ideal place to relax and socialise with family and friends whilst taking in the breath-taking views of Bradfield valley. Note the sleek and stylish polished nickel handles which were chosen to add a contemporary edge to the traditional and classical look.

The AGA was set within a solid pippy oak mantle feature with working doors either side. The surrounding base cabinets were set forwards to allow for the depth of the AGA and granite storage shelf for oils and cooking utensils at the back of the AGA. Note how the Angel White granite extends into the window cills. This adds a subtle, contemporary twist and makes the kitchen look bigger.

Another unusual feature was the way in which we housed the large family, American style fridge freezer. We set this into the cabinet work.
